Junior Age Groups

The U16s Black squad have made the step to enter to the Yorkshire Premier Division and will be using Kingston Park stadium as a home base this season, with matches on Sundays.

Across the other junior teams, all fixtures will be played on Saturday mornings, bar one off occasions on a couple of Sundays that will be linked to a Sunday Newcastle Thunder match.

U16s Orange will compete in the North East league and Cup this season, which includes a short U15 Cup competition for younger members of the squad.

U14s will follow a similar format, playing in league and cup competition with the Player Development Programme at Thunder once a month continuing through the year and culminating in a representative match against Cumbria in September.

The U12s will not play in a competitive league but have structured fixtures through the year before enjoying their first experience of competitive rugby with the North East Cup. Like the U14s, the monthly Player Development Programme sessions at Newcastle Thunder will run until July.

U10s will play a smaller number of friendlies, to give more time to train and develop, while also enjoying several festivals at Kingston Park stadium. The North East will also be running U9s matches and the Rockets will make the best efforts to ensure all players get the chance to play at their true age.

Finally, the U8s will follow a similar fixture list to the U10s, playing a small amount of set friendlies and several festivals at Kingston Park Stadium.

Notable dates through the year include: Magic Weekend on 19/20th May when there will be no local fixtures, the Dacia Cup on Sunday 29th April for U8-14s, Cup Finals Day on 7th July, League Finals day on July 21st and two Thunder festivals for U8-10s on arch 25th and July 21st.

Home fixtures will be played at Cramlington Sporting Club with junior catering to continue at the Cramlington Masonic Hall.

Team Managers will contact players with week by week details and are the best port of call if you have any questions. For any other queries, email info@cramlingtonrockets.co.uk.

Open Age

The Open Age will continue to play on Saturday afternoons, with the league starting in May and running until the end of August, with the North East cup competition to include teams from Scotland for the first time. Week 2, May 12th will be the now traditional North East Magic Weekend when all sides play in one day at Kingston Park stadium.

The Rockets will also be looking to run an ‘A’ Team playing merit friendlies through the year.

Home matches will be played at Cramlington Sporting Club with post-match catering and events to be held at new sponsor, The Three Sisters in Cramlington Village.

Pre-season starts at 7pm on Wednesday 14th April on the Cramlington Sporting Club multi-sport surface. New players welcome.
