North East Rugby League has confirmed that the age groups for the 2021 season will follow the ‘even’s structure. That means the age groups at Cramlington Rockets this year will be: Rocket Tots, U6s, U8s, U10s, U12s, U14s, U16s, Open Age.

“We are excited to get started again” said Chairman, Jeff Ball. “It’s been a long time since everyone has been active or done anything in a group so our priority is having fun and getting used to being back on the pitch rather than trying to quickly get back up to skills or fitness levels.

The mixed age groups are something we have always done as it the only way for North East Rugby League to have a league structure. We were hoping to go ‘odds’ this year but the overall data for the whole region has meant that ‘evens’ is where the most players are.
This means that the Age Groups will be the same as they were in 2019. We know some players will be hesitant to play ‘up’ again but our message is very much “Give it a go and trust us”. We will adapt training and look to play true age fixtures (i.e. U11, U13, U15 etc) through the season to ensure as good a playing experience as possible for everyone.”

Ball continued: “Who you play with is just one part of the puzzle when it comes to being a part of the Rockets and we want everyone to enjoy their rugby league and feel comfortable as we all get back to normal.”

All players are asked to familiarise themselves with where they must COVID register/exit
Please arrive 15-20 mins early to be registered
Players should bring their own water
Only 1 spectator per player is allowed
Spectators should remain socially distanced
Open Age restarts 31st March
All mini and junior age groups start Saturday 3rd April

BEFORE YOU RETURN

All players must have registered with the RFL (N/A to Rocket Tots) for the 2021 season, be paying this month’s fees and returned a COVID declaration (2020 declarations are still valid). Further details of how to do this can be found on the club website HERE.

Please confirm attendance to your Team Manager by Monday/Thursday for the coming Wednesday/Saturday session to ensure we can manage any bubbles within the group.
