The essential information ahead of Saturday’s charity family day.

1. What is Christopher Wallace Day

The annual charity day for Cramlington Rockets, Christopher was one of the original Rockets when the club formed in 2000 and sadly and suddenly passed away of a heart defect in 2012 aged only 25. Christopher Wallace Day is a way to remember him and raise money for charity as well as having a great day out with the Rockets Family. It takes place on the back pitch of the CLV.

2. Who are we raising money for

All funds raised will go to the British Heart Foundation to support their research into curing heart disease to ensure no more families have to go through what Christopher’s did. Our aim for 2016 is to beat the 2015 total of £700. We suggest a donation of £2 a player and £1 for spectators. Visit www.bhf.org.uk for more information.

3. What is there to do

Loads! All players are playing in a series of matches. U8s vs U8s, U10s vs U10s and so on, up to the U16s who are completing the final match of the Rockets Origin Series. Bragging rights are to be had.

Alongside the match action, there will be inflatables including a bouncy castle, face painters, a cake stand and raffle prizes to win.

4. What do I need to bring?

Make sure you bring plenty of change to get the most out of the day. A small donation is needed for the activities and for playing. Raffle prizes and cakes to donate are also most welcome and we are asking everyone to #WearRedForWallace. What that means is up to you as be as creative as you want!

We are of course on the rugby fields at the back of the CLV so appropriate footwear and clothing is a must. We are expecting sun with a bit of cloud on Friday and Saturday.

5. How can I support it if I cannot make it on the day?

We are really looking forward to seeing everyone there and if you want to volunteer even in a small way, please let us know.

If you can’t make it, you can still make a donation, either through our JustGiving page or by texting CRCW70 £3 to 70070. Don’t forget to add your gift aid to add 25% for free.
