For Year 11 students on Wednesday 20th January.

Cramlington Learning Village Rugby Academy is hosting an Open Evening for any year 11 students wishing to join the sixth form programme in September.

Held at Cramlington Sporting Club from 6:30-8pm, it is a chance to meet the coaches and learn about what is on offer.

Playes will get the chance to play both rugby league and union, have access to the leading indoor and outdoor facilities and specialised gym of the Sporting Club and have the option of a summer tour to France.

Coaching is delivered by award-winning coaches from Cramlington Rockets RLFC, one of the UK’s leading rugby league clubs.

“We love holding the open evenings as it is a chance to both tell people how successful the rugby academy has been since it launched two years ago and also what our plans are for the future” said Academy Head, Steve Beaty.

“There is a mix of players here who have both played rugby before or never picked up a rugby ball before. The way we coach means everyone is included and given a chance to develop.

We play in some competitive matches against local sides and saw one player selected for England Lionhearts last summer, which is testament to the environment we have created here.

If anyone wants to come along, no booking is required; you just need to turn up on the night.”
