This week is Parents in Sport Week - a national awareness-raising campaign focused on the vital role parents and carers play in supporting children's participation.

The Rugby Football League has joined forces with other sports organisations across the country to highlight some of the resources available to clubs, coaches, schools and parents through the NSPCC’s Child Protection in Sport Unit.

Everyone in club, schools, college and informal Rugby League is invited to take part and show their support, and thanks for parents' support, across social media.

Paul Stephenson, NSPCC CPSU: "Parents, through their support, encouragement and understanding, play a pivotal role in supporting their child's participation, success and fun when playing sport.

"It's essential that sports clubs communicate regularly with parents so that both coach and parent work towards the same goals."

How can you get involved?

Everyone in Rugby League has a part to play and you can spread the word by using and sharing some of the resources.

The NSPCC has produced resources for clubs to use with parents and their own coaches, including codes of conduct and videos for parents and coaches. These are available HERE.
