Cramlington Rockets are looking for coaches for their U8-16s.

The North East’s biggest rugby league club is looking for new coaches to join its junior set up.

Cramlington Rockets have over 210 players across teams from U8s to adult and are looking to boost their numbers in coaching roles to continue to develop the club.

No experience is required and all qualifications are paid for by the club. Training takes place on Saturday mornings at Cramlington Learning Village from January to November, as well as Wednesday evening training from March to September.

“We have a good group of volunteers at the club, including a number who have been recognised for their work both regionally and nationally” said Chairman, Jeff Ball.

“We have a lot of fun doing what we do in an environment that is very supportive of both the players and the volunteers.

Almost all our coaches have got involved without any experience of coaching or even playing rugby league.

We appreciate it can seem daunting but that is why we support all our volunteers as much as they need to get started, with them typically working with more experienced coaches when they start out.

One issue with having such a large and growing player base is of course having enough staff to ensure the quality isn’t diminished, the more popular we become.

We are a club for our members and we are always happy to discuss opportunities with anyone who thinks they can make a difference.”
