Magic Weekend Mascot Opportunity

2 months ago By Jeff Ball

For the Saturday at this year's event.

Cramlington Rockets have been given the chance to be mascots for the Widnes VIkings versus St Helens match on Saturday, 3pm kick off.

The black and white stripe-wearing Widnes face a tough challenge against league leaders Saints.

Who can apply
There are eleven spots for children aged 11 or under with the remaining spots being shared with Yarm Wolves. You must be registered with Cramlington Rockets and hold a valid Saturday or Weekend ticket. Tickets can now only be bought directly rather than through the club.

Is this for Rocket Tots
We would recommend this is mainly for children who are part of the minis rugby section of the club. Rocket Tots can be involved but parents should be mindful of the fact they will be needed behind the scenes an hour before kick off and will be supervised by two of the clubs coaches only. If your child is not comfortable going without parental supervision for that long, this is not for you. Get in touch if you are not sure.

How are places allocated
Places will be allocated first come first serve unless a player is already down to participate in another on-field activity, in which case they will go one a first reserve list, first once first serve. This is to give priority to those who are not involved currently but equally allow those who are to 'double up' if the opportunity allows.

What is involved
Those selected will need to go behind the scenes of St James’ Park at approximately 2pm, be given a complimentary t-shirt and receive a briefing from event staff before walking out the St James’ Park tunnel with the teams, live on Sky Sports. As soon as the match kicks off, players will be taken back to their seats.

How to apply
Simply email info@cramlingtonrockets.co.uk with your child’s name and school year declaring your interest by 23:59 Sunday 13th May. Those selected will be confirmed by 14th May. Anyone who has been allocated a place but does not have a valid match ticket will lose their place.

If you have any questions, email info@cramlingtonrockets.co.uk or message us on social media.
