‘Barci’s Buddies’ launched in collaboration with Northumberland club.

National restaurant chain Nando’s have strengthened their relationship with RFL Club of the Year, Cramlington Rockets.

Having sponsored the first team in 2017, Nando’s Cramlington has now extended their support to include the club’s community department by becoming a Community Partner.

With the support of Nando’s, the Rockets will be able to support local primary schools, primarily through a new unique programme called Barci’s Buddies.

Named after Barci, the Nando’s mascot, the new initiative will work with schools to identify children who will benefit from its 6-week programme of workshops encouraging healthy living and a positive lifestyle.

Upon completion of the programme, all participants will enjoy an interactive behind-the-scenes workshop at Nando’s Cramlington, receive gifts from Nando’s and be able to attend the Rockets’ popular summer rugby camp for free.

Rockets Community Manager, Steven Beaty was thrilled to be expanding the relationship with Nando’s: “We have been working closely with Nando's Cramlington for over a year now and from our first meeting it was clear that we share the same family values and ethos.

This relationship will enable us to engage people within the local community who don't traditionally have access to sport.

We are extremely proud that such a renowned company such as Nando's has come on board as a community partner and we look forward to growing this great relationship"

Nando’s Cramlington assistant manager, Daniel Nesbitt was pleased to be working with the Rockets: “Since we opened, the Rockets have supported us and shown how much they are part of the community of Cramlington.

We share many values and we are looking forward to continue to work with them and welcome the children taking part in Barci’s Buddies to the restaurant at the end of their programme.”

Cramlington Rockets is based in Northumberland and has teams from 2 years old to adults. To find out more about the club or its community work, email info@cramlingtonrockets.co.uk or visit www.cramlingtonrockets.co.uk.
