One of Cramlington Rockets’ ex-juniors has been called up to the England squad for the forthcoming Commonwealth Youth Games.
Tom Marshall, who joined the club in 2012 and was part of the successful 2016 triple-winning U16s side, has been part of the Newcastle Falcons’ academy for the last two years after choosing to commit to rugby union after playing both codes for several years.
Marshall along with fellow Falcon Cameron Kelemti will represent England at rugby sevens in the Commonwealth Youth Games in the Bahamas in July.
The tournament runs from July 19-21, with both players having represented England Under-17s this season in the 15-a-side format.
Marshall is the latest Rocket to take steps into representative honours after fellow Falcons Academy prospect, Dan Marshall also represented England Youth Sevens and Callum Chick captained the England U20 side to U20 World Cup Glory.
