Rockets Enjoy Extensive Media Coverage

Cramlington Rockets have been the talk of the Toon over the last week with a number of good news stories featuring across numerous publications.

Having being awarded a grant from the Aviva Community Fund in 2015, the Rockets were asked to help front the 2016 national campaign launch.

With world-renowned photographer, Martin Parr visiting Rockets Community earlier this year, his photos entitled “Community Spirit” have featured on the Guardian website documenting community groups from across the UK.

With the 2016 website now open for applications, a video about the Rockets as well as a digital exhibition featuring the club feature heavily.

News of the famous documentary photographers' visit was picked up on Tuesday by the Newcastle Chronicle, who also featured a full page story about the numerous Rockets nominated for this Friday’s North East Rugby League Awards in the print version.

Then on Wednesday, it was the Journal's turn to show off Rockets Community, with a two page spread of martin's photos.

News of the club’s shortlisting for National Club of the Year saw a jump in visits to the club’s website, pushing it to second in the Pitchero website rankings.

And details of Rockets Community expanding by looking to add new coaches was picked up by rugby-league.com.
