Rockets Ready for Double Header

By Jeff Ball

League and Cup Semi-Final against Peterlee on Wednesday.

The Rockets 1st team will be making a mid-week trip to Halford Road this Wednesday (26th June to take on Peterlee Pumas in a league and cup double header, 19:30 kick off.

Serving as the North East Cup semi-final, the winners will face either Catterick Crusaders or the victors of Wallsend Eagles versus West View Warriors from Hartlepool.

With the Pumas sitting bottom of the North East league table, the Rockets will still be taking nothing for granted despite sitting third in the table, four points behind leaders Jarrow Vikings with two matches in hand.

"It's always tough to travel to away matches mid-week and there is an added pressure of it being a double header" said Head Coach Danny Gilroy.

"There are a lot of good sides in the league this year and Peterlee have been unlucky to come up against some of the form sides on a good day.

However, we're still going to their home turf and that is always a boost for any side so we will be giving them the respect they deserve and hopefully we can progress in both competitions."
