The Rockets' Chairman, Jeff Ball and Community Manager, Steven Beaty have been revealed as runners up in this year's Supporters Direct Community Champion Award.

The top prize went to Ray Abbey. Former player and coach Ray is a fantastic ambassador for the sport and has devoted his limited spare time to a number of community and fundraising projects involving rugby league throughout his life.

The winner was revealed at the Kingstone Press Championships awards in Manchester on Monday night.

With Beaty and Ball making the 12-person shortlist for the community award, it is fitting recognition of two of the Rockets main personnel who have helped the club become shortlisted for National Club of the Year for the second year running.

The winner of that award will be revealed at Old Trafford before the Super League Grand Final on 7th October.
