U12s Player Development Programme

Newcastle Thunder will be running an Under 12 Player Development Programme in 2016 which will include 3 Development Days.

The first day is this half term on February 16th 9:30-12:00 at Kingston park Stadium.

The aim is to provide all Under 12s in the region with access to coaching from Thunder’s First Team and Academy coaches - to supplement what is being delivered at their community clubs.

The Player Development Programme is completely open access and free and is based around the core principles of Embed the Pathway and aims to assist the development of the players:

Coachability – how do player behaviours and attitudes contribute to develop
Mental Attributes – introducing sports psychology to the young player
Game - Technical and Tactical aspects specific to Rugby League
Movement – the ability of the young player to perform key movements with control and accuracy, vital for their physical literacy.

The Under 12 Player Development Programme will be held at Kingston Park, Brunton Road, Newcastle Upon Tyne, NE13 8AF.

The dates for the Under 12 Player Development Programme are:
