Match this Sunday at CLV.

Cramlington Rockets' U16s Black squad is set to take on Kells ARLFC in a friendly this Sunday (11am kick off).

Kells travel across as current North West champions in the latest of a series of fixtues for the Rockets against the country's leading squads.

The team's last match was against Cumbrian champions Seaton Rangers, with victory that day demonstrating the quality of the Cramlington outfit.

With the Rockets also enjoying victory over Yorkshire champs, Kippax Welfare in the course of their Yorkshire League season, it means the Northumberland-side have shown themselves to be one of the best sides in the UK.

As well as challenging his talented squad, it is just as important for the Rockets to build new relationships:

"We have enjoyed some fantastic competitions this season followed by equally fantastic hospitality" said Coach, Jordan Robinson.

"We have really enjoyed meeting a lot of like-minded clubs who want to grow the game and these cross-region fixtures show there is a desire to grow the game.

We made the decision this season to take this squad out of the North East competition to test their limits and we certainly have done that.

We're very proud of them and grateful for the commitment from them and their families.

By the end of the season we will have played almost 20 matches, which is a great effort and the experience will be invaluable for the squad as they take their next steps in rugby league.
