U14s Highlights over the Next Few Months

There is loads going on – don't miss out with this helpful guide

With the main season approaching, there is a raft of activities taking place for the U14s. To ensure you do not miss out on any of it, here is a summary of what is happening in the following weeks and months:

Saturday 21st March – Newcastle Thunder U14s Development Day
Train at Kingston Park with the North East’s premier rugby league coaches on the state of the art 3g pitch.

Saturday 28th March – away trip – Yorkshire Cup match
Details to be confirmed

Tuesday 31st March – Deadline to order discount Magic Weekend tickets
The last day to order Rockets-exclusively priced tickets for Magic Weekend on 30/31 May

Easter Elite Camp – week one – Wednesday 1 & Thursday 2 April
Led by ex-Super League Youth Coach, Steve Beaty, the North East’s most popular rugby camp returns. Tailored to what the players want, activities will be rugby or gym-based, with no workshops

Newcastle Thunder 9s – Good Friday, 3rd April
A 9s festival at Kingston Park Stadium ahead of the Newcastle Thunder opening league match vs Barrow Raiders. Players receive FREE match tickets, while adults only pay £5 and non-playing juniors £2.50. The day is also part of the North East Rugby League Junior Launch Day. There is no training on Saturday 4th April.

Mid-Week Training restarts – 8th April
Until the end of the season, we will be training on both Wednesdays 6-7pm and Saturdays 10-11:30.

Easter Elite Camp – week two – Thursday 9th April & Friday 10th April
The elite camp returns, with more high level rugby skills work tailored to what the players want, activities will be rugby or gym-based, with no workshops.

North East 9s – Saturday 11th April
The traditional 9s to start the season takes place against other North East teams – details to follow

Saturday 18th April – Newcastle Thunder U14s Development Day
The last chance before the season starts to train at Kingston Park with the North East’s premier rugby league coaches on the cutting edge, 3g pitch. A good opportunity for those wanting to play for the North East Academy in September.

U14s Team Social – Wednesday 22nd April
At Frankie & Benny’s Cramlington at 7pm with special offers exclusive to the Rockets. All players and family invited.

First league game of the season – Saturday 25th April
Opposition to be confirmed.

Family Club Day – Saturday 2nd May
Fun and games for all ages at the club – details to be confirmed

League game – Saturday 9th May
Opposition to be confirmed.

Friendly vs Guiseley Rangers – Saturday 16th May
Part of a tournament with Whitley Bay Barbarians and Guiseley Rangers, from Yorkshire

League game – Saturday 23rd May
Opposition to be confirmed.

Newcastle Thunder vs York – Friday 29th May
A massive derby match with thousands of Magic Weekenders expected to make it a fantastic Friday night!

Magic Weekend – Saturday 30th and Sunday 31st May at St. James’ Park
The biggest weekend of the year. 12 Super League sides, 80,000 people!
