StreetGames and Newcastle City Council are working with schools, leisure centres and community groups near you to offer free holiday schemes to ensure that young people across Newcastle have access to a range of activities, good quality food and have a happy and enjoyable summer.

Newcastle Thunder along with the Best Summer ever team are hosting a fun, interactive multi-sports event this Sunday followed by tickets to watch Newcastle Thunder play Coventry Bears as the season is coming to an end. Here are a few key details of the event:

• The event starts at 12.30pm
• The activities on offer include multi sport, Tennis, Cycling, Zorbing, Bubble Football, Rugby and traditional park games and activities.
• Everyone attending as part of the Best Summer ever will get lunch provided (at about 2.30 pm)
• Everyone attending will get a free ticket to watch the Match starting at 3pm
• There will be opportunities for some of the children attending to be mascots at the game and flag bearers on the pitch giving them the opportunity to meet the Newcastle Thunder players before the game
Newcastle Thunder general manager Jordan Robinson said: “We’re proud to be hosting the StreetGames team ahead of the Coventry game and welcoming a whole host of people from across Newcastle.

“As well as enjoying the multi-sport activities, they will also be able to watch Thunder take on Coventry and get a taste of all the excitement rugby league and the club offer on Summer afternoons during the year.”
