An exclusive access all areas documentary called “We Are Thunder” will give a unique insight in to the 2019 season at Newcastle.

Filmed with the blessing of Thunder’s coaching and backroom teams by Newcastle based 6 Media, ‘We Are Thunder’ will take fans deep within the inner sanctum of the club during an exhilarating season, starting from pre-season in January, to the play-off final against Oldham in October.

From pivotal team talks and the best of the match action from a 24-game season, to in depth features around the club’s award-winning community foundation and significant milestones and achievements for members of the squad, the documentary will shine even greater light over events on Tyneside during 2019.

It will also offer never-before-seen interviews with key personnel, including Director of Rugby Denis Betts, Head Coach Simon Finnigan and Chairman Mick Hogan, providing added context to the season just gone.

With rugby league growing in popularity in the area and five men’s games in the 2021 Rugby League World Cup set to be staged in the region, the documentary is intended to introduce Thunder and the game to a wider audience, along with those fans already enjoying the sport.

Newcastle Thunder communications officer Andrew Robson said: “We’re very excited to be presenting an exclusive, behind the scenes look on the club’s 2019 campaign and giving people a glimpse at the inner workings of the club.

“It was an exhilarating year with ups and downs and we’re very thankful to the RFL for allowing us to bring our story to a wider audience. We hope people enjoy gaining a new perspective on everything that happened during 2019, as captured by the cameras.”

Episodes 1 and 2 of We Are Thunder will be available to watch on the OuRLeague app on Monday 11 November, and on Thunder’s YouTube channel from Friday 15th November with two new episodes appearing every week until w/c December 16th.
