Rockets centre to feature against Salford Red Devils.

One of Cramlington Rockets' rising stars is set to make his Newcastle Thunder U16s Foundation Academy debut this Saturday in Kingston Park.

Rhys Edgell, who has been part of the Rockets for several years and part of the U16s set up which has lifted three back-to-back league trophies, has been named at centre against the Super League Academy side.

In a Newcastle side featuring four other Rockets, Edgell missed the first match of the season against Cumbria due to injury and is chomping at the bit to start his Thunder career.

"It's been on my mind all week but I'm just looking forward to going out and give it my all" said Edgell. "Salford will be an exceptional team with a big pack and a fast set backs it should be a good game."

"When Rhys came to the Rockets he immediately bought into what we do" said Rockets Coach, Chris Ure.

"He has come on loads since he has been at the club and deserves his chance at the next level. I'm sure he'll smash it."

Kick-off tomorrow is at 14:00 and entrance will be £3 with a programme for adults via the East Stand.
