Fundraising to support Fergus Simpson to represent Scotland.

One of Cramlington Rockets’ burgeoning talents has been selected to play for the Scotland U19s Academy side this summer.

Fergus Simpson, who also plays for the Newcastle Thunder Academy has been named alongside fellow Thunder player Callum in the squad to travel to Belgrade in Serbia for the U19s European Championship.

With the trip 100% self-funded by the players, Newcastle Thunder are fundraising through GoFundMe to raise £1,000 for each player to attend.

“This is a massive opportunity for both players” said Jordan Robinson, general manager of Newcastle Thunder.

“There’s a lot of talent in the North East and we are building a strong pathway to get players to these kinds of opportunities.

Both are talented individuals who will thrive by being a part of the Championship. I really hope that the whole of the North East gets behind them to make sure they can be there.”
