A big Rockets crowd is expected for Friday and Sunday

With a heatwave forecast by the end of the week, the Rockets have a full schedule of exciting activity coming up.

Tuesday sees the U15s & U16s getting to train at Kingston park, home of Newcastle Thunder before it is the turn of the U14s and 1st Team to grace the state-of-the-art pitch.

Friday Night Lights is a new initiative by Newcastle Thunder to give community teams the chance to sample playing on the big stage.
The Rockets U14s take on Catterick Crusaders at 6:15 before the 1st Team take on Peterlee Pumas at 8pm.

Saturday sees the U9s & U11s make the short journey to Whitley Bay for a festival and the U12-16s all pencilled in for match action.

Sunday then sees one of the Rockets own, Fraser Boldy, line up for England Colleges at Kingston Park (12:30) as they take on Scotland Colleges ahead of the Newcastle Thunder clash against Rochdale Hornets (3pm).

“We really hope we get a good turn out this week, especially for the Firday Night Lights and the England Colleges match” said Chairman, Jeff Ball.

“The atmosphere and weather on Friday will be brilliant and with the Tap & Tackle open all night, it will be quite an occasion for all those involved.

Sunday will be a special day as it is the first time a Rocket has represented his country at his home ground. The bigger crowd the better, and I’m sure Fraser will do us proud.”
