516 tickets snapped up so far by the Rockets Family

It is important we say ‘thank you’ by turning out in force and giving them a big Geordie welcome so when it comes to 2017 we are in the mix to hold it once again.

The North East’s biggest rugby league club, Cramlington Rockets have surpassed their previous total set for the 2015 Magic Weekend with two months still to go to this year’s event.

516 tickets have been ordered so far, mainly in the East Stand to ensure another sea of orange to add to the carnival atmosphere.

Magic Weekend is one of the biggest occasions of the rugby league calendar when all twelve First Utility Super League sides play in one venue over two days.

Newcastle United’s St James’ Park is the venue for the second year in a row after a record turnout last May. Around 70,000 are expected this time around for the two day extravaganza being held on May 21st and 22nd.

The Rockets’ army of orange caught the eyes of fans and the national media alike last year and Chairman Jeff Ball is excited for another big turnout.

“Last year was amazing and everyone came away with a big smile on their face.

We were thrilled to be able to take so many people last time and to be able to take even more this year will really make the atmosphere something special.”

The BBC, ITV, Sky and even the Sydney Morning Herald were amongst those to mention the burgeoning Northumberland-based club who are setting the standard for an amateur club outside of rugby league’s traditional heartlands of Yorkshire and Lancashire.

Ball continued: “We like to point out that we brought more supporters than Catalan Dragons did last year, but in fairness they do have another 1,000 miles to travel!

In all seriousness though, events like Magic Weekend are essential for growing the game in the North East and it is full credit to the RFL and Super League for bringing it back.

It is important we say ‘thank you’ by turning out in force and giving them a big Geordie welcome so when it comes to 2017 we are in the mix to hold it once again.

Discount tickets saving up to 50% on the published cost when bought through the club can still be bought by clicking here.

The club will be submitting its order on the 31st March that will likely see the highly popular Blue East Stand tickets sell out. Ticket sstill remain in the Gallowgate and Leazes (purple) ends.

Any tickets ordered through the club after this date will be subject to RFL availability.
