U14s ready for Cup Final this Saturday.

This Saturday (15th June) sees Cramlington Rockets' U14s take on Yarm Wolves in the North East Cup Final.

With a 13:10 kick off at Kingston Park stadium, it is the first chance of silverware in the North East competition this season and is set to be a tough challenge.

The U14s have won the respective cup for the last two years and will be keen to make in a hat-trick against an up and coming Yarm side.

The Teesside club has enjoyed rising success across its growing age groups with its U14s sitting top of the league unbeaten with four wins while the Rockets sit third with three wins and two defeats, indicating the challenge ahead.

The Rockets' path to the final saw them beat Whitley Bay Barbarians 36-12 in the semi-final while Yarm beat Gateshead Storm.

"It's a exciting to be in another Cup Final, something the club has been able to do consistently since we moved to Cramlington a decade ago" said Chairman, Jeff Ball.

"It is always a special occasion and a great achievement for this group of players who have been together for several years now.

This is the first season with a competitive league for them and bar the cup competition for the last two years, it's the first time they've had a season where every game counts for something. It's part of their development and everyone at the club knows they'll try their best.

Saturday will be a fascinating battle and I'm sure a great advert for North East rugby league."

The Cup Final is part of a full day of rugby league at Kingston Park.

Yarm Wolves U16’s will take on Cumbrian outfit Kells U16’s at 11:55 followed by the North East Rugby League U14 Cup Final between Yarm Wolves and Cramlington Rockets at 13:10. Newcastle Thunder then take on Whitehaven RLFC in Betfred League 1 at 15:00.
