Winner to be announced at Super League Grand Final.

This is a reflection on all our members and they should be very proud.
- Jeff Ball, Rockets Chairman

Northumberland-based Cramlington Rockets have been shortlisted for the RFL National Club of the Year.

A party from the Rockets will be present at the RFL Community Awards hoping to lift the highest honour there is for any community club.

Taking place in the Captain's Lounge at Old Trafford before the Super League Grand Final, it is the pinnacle of the amateur game and a fantastic honour to be represented.

The Rockets have turned heads with their continued expansion, warm and supportive environment and a series of innovations, particularly from Rockets Community, now entering it's third year.

Success at all levels on the pitch was matched off it and record sales of Magic Weekend and RFL Community Raffle tickets, the most in the country in both cases for a community club, have proven the enthusiasm that can be found at the Rockets.

"We are ecstatic to be shortlisted" said Chairman, Jeff Ball.

"This means the world to us and so should it to all our members. This is a massive reflection on all of them, from Rocket Tots to Rocket Nans, new or old, it is them who make us what we are and I hope everyone can enjoy this recognition."

"We actually got the news on our 16th anniversary of forming as a club so it was the perfect birthday present!"

The Rockets are up against Siddal ARLFC in a shortlist of only two clubs making for an intriguing ceremony, the Halifax club also proving innovative when growing participation.

A series of other awards will be handed out on the day, with full details to be released by the RFL in the coming weeks.
