Strong turnout for CLV Rugby Academy prospects.

Prospective students talk to the CLV staff at Cramlington Sporting Club.

Last week, the Cramlington Learning Village Rugby Academy held an open evening for any year 11 students considering joining the sixth form set up.

With coaching by the award-winning Rockets Community team, part of Cramlington Rockets RLFC, students enjoy a full sixth form education alongside regular elite coaching using the excellent facilities of Cramlington Sporting Club.

Held in the Sporting Club, it was an opportunity for players to learn about what opportunities there were, what would be expected and ask any questions they had.

Academy Head Coach, Steve Beaty was pleased to see so many potential new faces.

“We have a really strong set up this year, building on a successful 2014/2015 team and adding a number of new faces who have really bought into what we are trying to achieve.

The opportunities this year are arguably even better than last year, with the chance to play both rugby league and union and tour France in the summer.

It is an important decision for these guys, as sixth form will play a bit part in determining their future. What we offer is very attractive and we would love to be able to help even more students move forward with both their educational and rugby careers.”
