Rockets to compete in North East Super 4s

Cramlington Rockets’ 1st XIII will once again compete for the top prize in the North East.

With the regular fixtures now over, the season now moves onto the Super 4s, with the top 4 placed sides competing in the Championship and the bottom 4 in the Shield.

The Rockets finished third in the ladder on ten points behind reigning champions, Wallsend Eagles on twelve, with Jarrow Vikings leading on fourteen.

The fourth place in the Championship fell to Catterick Crusaders following victory at the weekend over Gateshead Storm A, the North Yorkshire side squeezing in on points difference despite being equal on match points with Durham Tigers and Durham Demons.

The Rockets now face all the Championship sides in a series of round-robin fixtures with the two best performing sides going through to August’s Grand Final on Saturday 18th.

Having reach last year’s final for the first time in the club history, only to lose out to Wallsend, the young Rockets side will be keen to go one better.

The fixtures for the Super 4s are as follows:

28th July – Wallsend Eagles (away)
4th August – Catterick Crusaders (home)
11th August – Jarrow Vikings (away)
All matches are a 2:30 kick off.
