2022 Membership fees - how to pay

The membership costs for the 2022 season have been revealed.

Given the rising cost of living many members are facing due to high inflation, and the fact there is now an additional one-off RFL Our League Membership fee to pay, we have reduced prices for club membership to levels below those paid in 2019, the last time we enjoyed a season uninterrupted by COVID.

Membership includes all training sessions, all matches, match day strips, insurance and post-match catering. Players must be paying membership fees and registered with the RFL (a separate registration process) to play and be covered by club insurance.

In addition to this, being a paying member of the club gives access to match day opportunities via Newcastle Thunder, Super League and the Rugby League World Cup, invitations to team socials, and free player entry to the End of Season Awards.

The club is pleased to reveal three ways to pay, rather than just a monthly option, which was necessary last year due to the uncertainty of COVID.

The options are:

1) Monthly payments
Pay £15 monthly over 9 months (£135)

2) 3-monthly payments
Pay £40 every three months (£120)

3) One off payment
A one off payment of £110

OPEN AGE

A change for this season, Open Age players will now be asked to pay a one off club registration fee of £26 but then only pay match fees (£3 per match) - again this represents a saving on previous seasons.

NEW - RFL'S OUR LEAGUE MEMBERSHIP FEE

All club options listed above exclude the one-off payment for the RFL's Our League Active Membership. This goes directly to the RFL to support the management of the community game.

While payment is to be made to the club for this while paying club membership fees, this is instead of making a separate payment on the RFL's site.

Therefore we will be paying it to the RFL on your behalf, thus reducing the administration each member must undertake.

The RFL membership fee costs:

Adults - £24
U12-18s (2021/22 school Year 7-13) - £18
U11s (Reception - Year 6) - £12

N.B. You can sign up to pay your fees online at any time. Failure to do so will result in players being unable to play club matches.

The club membership fee also goes towards equipment costs, coach hire for long-distance away matches, and pitch and venue maintenance at our new home of Eastfield Pavilion.

"With the benefits of having our own venue come new and higher associated costs. therefore, it is important players sign up to their membership at the start of the season to support the club" said Chairman, Jeff Ball.

"Monthly payments continue to be the main way of paying and this change to spreading it over 9 months better reflects the youth season. If a player signs up at the February registration day, their membership will be paid in full by October, the end of the season, which coincides with the start of the World Cup."

Considering the other options, Ball added: "Some parents do like to pay the one off fee at the start of the season and it is one less thing to worry about. At only £110 it represents a saving of £25.

And finally our new method of three 3-monthly payments sits somewhere in the middle. Regular payments but for only £120 in total, again a saving, this time of £15 over the season.

These plus a change to match fees for the Open Age means we have reduced the amount of money we are asking members at a time when their money is being asked to go further."
