One of Cramlington Rockets' former juniors has been named in the 2022 England Universities squad.
Talented playmaker Jack Quinn rose through the ranks at the Rockets and is currently playing for the highly successful Northumbria University side that has dominated the university game for several years.
Equally adept at full back and in the halves, the call up for Quinn is the latest success for a player who also featured for the North of England University side in recent months.
Quinn is joined by four other Northumbria players in a squad that will play four games between April and June against GB Police, GB Teachers and UK Armed Forces in the RFL President’s Cup whilst the squad will also play a friendly against HM Prison Service.
The squad will then be cut to 20 players for the Student Rugby League Four Nations which takes place in Ireland in late June.
"We're really proud of Jack who has worked hard and really made a name for himself in the North East in recent years" said Chairman Jeff Ball.
"There has been a lot of work on his part, his coaches and his family and I am sure they like us are excited to see him pull on the England jersey in the coming months."
