Cramlington Rockets are throwing their support behind the Tackling Cancer #ImOnIt campaign seeking to raise £30,000 for the Sir Bobby Robson Foundation.
Super League side, Widnes Vikings are once again wearing a special edition Magic Weekend shirt bearing the logo of the local cancer charity.
Last year’s shirts raised £20,000 with Geordies loving the black and white striped design worn by the fans across the two days as they took over the Gallowgate End of St. James’ Park.
To thank those that donate to this year’s campaign, the first 3,000 people that donate £10 each will see their names emblazoned on this year’s strip.
Newcastle United legend, Kevin Keegan was the first to donate £10 and receive his certificate which can be shared via social media using the hashtag #ImOnIt.
Cramlington Rockets’ Chairman, Jeff Ball said: “Sir Bobby is an iconic Geordie who everyone loved and the work the charity does in his name is extremely important.
We had no hesitation in supporting the Tackling Cancer campaign and would encourage all of the Rockets Family to do the same.”
Ball added “As well as giving to a charity close to the hearts of many, we have great relations with Widnes Vikings from last year’s Magic Weekend and would cannot wait to see ‘Cramlington Rockets’ on their strip come May.”
